In the first week of February, one side of the moat in the city was completely packed, crowded and covered with flower-laden floats, botanical contests, hippie children and handmade crafts. Local vendors I've never heard of and more tourists in one spot than I've ever seen. Chiang Mai is a colorful city, and this festival did it justice.
